Pros

Excellent flexibility, promotions within retail environment are often quick, consistent raises, tips are decent if in a good neighborhood and you work to develop customer connections.

Cons

Managers are often not fair or well trained. Hours are super early or super late, makes regular life difficult.

Pros

Free pound of coffee every week. Great health insurance. Plenty of ways to make yourself feel appreciated. Quick promotion available when working hard. What I like, especially, is that the district managers must start as baristas(short training, but still!), so they get to know what we're facing. It's a cool philosophy, makes them empathetic.

Cons

They're not the best at translation for promotions and intern communications. It seems they're working on it though.
