Pros

- International mobility and travel. - Helpful employees

Cons

- Employees do not believe in organisation or product. Always making fun of how horrible it is. I do not understand why they do not leave. - Very average employees. Organisation goes down to the level of the lowest common denominator. Why should the ambitious employees bother putting in any effort, if everything is going to stall because of poor processes and incompetent employees? - Senior management totally out of touch with reality. - Technology is terrible. Very confusing processes - people just make it up as they go along. Often work becomes compensating for poor technology and processes. - Extremely bloated organisation. Too many cooks to spoil the broth. Everyone asks for status updates - creates duplication of communication.

Pros

Nothing but just withstanding till the next opportunity arise.

Cons

We the client care executive are the 1st in line for your clients to contact to! Standard Chartered Malaysia, you do realize this department has a freaking high turnover. Instead of hiring new joiners every month who will then last only a couple of months, why can't your damn management appreciate those who are there already? No compassion at all! Especially the Indian lady trainer over there seriously! You guys rather have employees that goes MIA than someone that's actually willing to do their best while dealing with some circumstances.

Pros

Job security, decent office space and benefits.

Cons

Mediocre people. Most of the staff is employed in South East Asia and they have brang their "beautiful" work culture over to the whole bank. Most of the people here are just waiting for their paycheck to come and ignore any accountability that they might have. Quality of work is beyond poor and you will not be able to do anything to change that. You will see low turnover rate here because probably they won´t be able to be hired anywhere else. Poor leadership and micromanagement. Again, from India. Everything is urgent. Managers will only speak to you if they need something to be done ASAP. Their soft skills are something else, so expect to be called "my friend" or "my brother" here. I have seen many people working for 5+ years in the same position doing exactly the same thing every single day. If you are a talented person, management will make sure you will not take over their own roles. They will not hear any of your feedback because they just want their subordinates to praise them. Townhalls are full of "positivity" even if things are going badly. Toxicity. Speaking behind your back. No feedback on your internal applications. If they think you are making them look bad, they will make sure it has consequences on you. Expect people to be fake around you or to end up having a bad relationship with them if you are assertive. Processes and tools. Endless processes which are extremely poorly documented. Tools simply do not work as they should but no one cares. If you want a place to grow and have a nice time while working, DO NOT come here. No one cares about anything in SCB.
