      Not a bad place to work if you are Swedish or Finnish

      Pros

      Global Operations (not a global company), opportunity to travel, see places and meet a diverse group of employees

      Cons

      Swedish company with global operations. management doesn't pay attention to field and sales guys. Company doesn't support independent ideas..you are either loyal or disloyal..loyalty is rewarded even if you are incompetent, disloyalty is punished even if you are competent. You can move forward only if you are in Scandinavia.

      Pros

      International travel (1-2 weeks per month) which is great if you don't have a family Benefits are OK for older employees close to retirement age In Sweden they offer very good benefits (18 months maternity and some paternity leave). This is not the case outside Sweden though.

      Cons

      The best jobs are in the head office (Sweden) and are protected by management at the expense of every other country.. There is no culture of accountability - if you do a good job, you are not rewarded, if you don't you get to hang around for eternity relying on everybody else to carry you. Management is completely disengaged from the realities of the mining business Very strong corporate culture forces everybody to march like lemmings off a cliff Poor pay Demoralized workforce

      Pros

      Sandvik has a good product that customers enjoy using. This makes your job of in sales easy. The sad part is that local sales managers are very lacking in team building skills. This leads to low moral among the sales force. Distrabution Channel Manager is complete failure.

      Cons

      Local managment is lacking in any type of team apporach.
