Pros

-AMAZING BENEFITS, great health care, ESPP, maturnity leave, all that good stuff -You will meet great people who will push you to be your best -The CEO actually cares -Cool swag, events (when we were in the office), office is really cool, great office perks -Being a power user of Salesforce will serve you well in the future and having Salesforce on your resume means you can get a job anywhere

Cons

Now time for a reality check, hence the "buyer beware" -High expectations no matter what. If you have a bad territory expect to not make any money and be constantly stressed about numbers. Doesn't matter what you do, they only care about numbers/ACV closed -Management needs a little work in the compassion area. Working through a pandemic and political turmoil is pretty difficult to sell CRM to small businesses who just had to fire half their staff or are GOING OUT OF BUSINESS but we are still expected to "get creative" -If you are lucky, you will get a territory that has an account that shouldn't be aligned to you but you will make your number from it cause management will look the other way since they want the ACV for themselves -Brand is absolutely everything, Anything you say or do will be held against you. You say one wrong thing it will get around. -Pay is horrible. You get a $1/hour increase when you get promoted for each role and they frame it like your OTE will be much higher though. FALSE, again unless you have an amazing territory, 25% of people ACTUALLY hit their number/OTE. So good luck with that. -Office perks are no longer. Since everyone is remote, half the perk of the job was all the cool things at the office. Say goodbye to that if you work remote. -PTO, don't even bother trying to take PTO... ever. You will fall behind or be guilt-tripped for taking it at all. Want to take PTO at the end of the month? ha not a shot. Want to take PTO at the end of the Quarter? good luck getting that approved. Want to take time off after the fiscal year ends? ha then you are the sucker who isn't working on their pipeline generation for the next year. Overall, great company. But if you want to go into sales here, get ready to have your ego, confidence, and sanity ripped to shreds. I would recommend any role here BUT sales.

Pros

- Good coaching culture - managers & other BDRs often deliver sessions to help develop others. - Lots of online training available via Trailhead - for SF products & industry/soft skills. - Benefits such as pension, discounted share prices, health insurance, and others. - Free snacks & coffees in the office. - Opportunity to make a lot of $ & career progression very quickly. - Lots of incentives & Presidents' Club.

Cons

- As a BDR you are competing against 2 other roles (AE & ECS) for the same target, which I found extremely difficult to work with. - Ego everywhere. - Hugely stressful job. My 3-star review is a mix of Salesforce as a company (5 stars) & the BDR role (1 star). Salesforce is a great company, with a great portfolio of solutions, & a great CEO. I believe had I a different role, I would be submitting a very different review. However, from my experience, I simply cannot openly recommend the BDR role. It's seen as a necessary stepping stone role towards AE, is an awful role in itself, and I found myself dreading going into work every day & always came home stressed.
