Pros
-Great learning curve -Stimulating tasks -Great exposure to firms' executives since the first months -Good level of competences of senior management that are often recognized by the clients -Colleagues are willing to transfer their knowledge to juniors in order to let them grow professionally -No competition between colleagues at junior levels -Very informal environment -Good quality of services delivered to clients -Many and good exit options
Cons
-Long hours (typical consulting style) -Low salary compared to top tier financial advisory firms (Rothschild, Lazard,...). For this reason often people complain about it. -In Corporate Finance small size clients compared to top firms -No effort is made to retain talents. This lead to the fact that often best people move after a couple of years and less talented people (on average) stay. In this way managers are often skilled but not very brilliant people.
