Pros
Name recognition- A great resume builder A lot of exposure to different industries, systems and personality types Great training and personal development Clients take you seriously and you will have significant responsibility right out of the gate Everyone on your teams will be hard working and most of them will be smart- the people make this place a much better place to work
Cons
No work-life balance Depending on your clients, you may have constant travel Limited opportunities for accelerated advancement if you are highly motivated (expect 3 years at each level, regardless of personal drive and abilities) Some of the people in the manager or senior manager levels are absolute morons. Seriously. Work is mind numbing. After the first 3 or 4 years, you will not learn many skills that make you more qualified to go elsewhere. The admin work is unreal. Book your own travel, do your own expense reports, set up your own invoices, codes, acceptance, etc. About an extra 10 hours per week on average. PFF performance reviews take up way too much time and effort. Legitimate feedback is not appreciated and can really hurt someone's career advancement. Accordingly, most people get very "vanilla" feedback unless they have a personal issue with the person performing their review and they get destroyed.. Annual review process (ARC) is not very transparent. HR can be really nice, but is often clueless to how this job actually works.
