Pros

• Teams genuinely support one another and often stand in solidarity. • Many talented individuals work hard and bring real value, even if they go unrecognised. • Bonds are formed through shared challenges — sometimes trauma — which speaks volumes about the resilience of the people, not the culture.

Cons

• Leadership plays favourites — promotions are handed to select individuals without merit or credentials, while others are held to a different standard. • The environment is overwhelmingly male-dominated, with little regard for diversity or inclusion. • The managing director is disengaged, often more focused on his phone than on the people or purpose of meetings. • He prioritises trivial metrics like logged hours and event attendance (even outside work hours) over trust, outcomes, or wellbeing. • A culture of bullying is tolerated, if not enabled, by senior leadership. Integrity and mentorship are sorely lacking. • Inappropriate relationships one SLT member and employees go unaddressed, raising serious ethical concerns. • Leadership invites openness and honesty, but often weaponises that vulnerability against employees. • Challenges to leadership are unwelcome unless they align with pre-approved narratives. • There’s a wholesale focus on processes and operations, with little understanding of retail realities. • Many talented employees are overlooked simply because they don’t conform to internal politics or presentation styles. • Redundancies don’t always seem to be based on business needs but rather strategic

Pros

- Nice pantry and coffee machine - Fun Company events - Free clothes and shoes - Friendly colleagues

Cons

- Hierarchical top-down structure although was told that it is a flat structure. - Management lacks leadership, often fickle minded, does not set clear expectations, change expectations set whenever they feel like it, lacks empathy, often micro manage and likes to nitpick on small mistakes. - Management only cares about company’s performance, KPI and results. They hardly care about the employee’s wellness and mental health. - Authoritative management, management actually walks around office and looks at your screen to see what you are doing. Stressful to have someone looking at your back. - HR processes are not well developed, no clear structure. No exit interview. Induction for new hires was poorly executed. - Strong politics in office especially when several employees talk about management behind close doors. - Management shows favoritism to certain employees and lacks respect to others. - Some managers show little guidance and coaching and expect new employees to perform. - Some managers lack teamwork and communication. Double standards. - Feedback given to employees lacks justification and often unreasonable. - As the Puma slogan goes “Forever faster”, employees are being push to their limits and they feel breathless. Too fast pace with no work life balance. Overall, it was an eye opening and shocking experience in PUMA. It has changed my impression of the company and I will strongly not recommend it to anyone joining at all! It is unfortunate that you have just lost an employee who is passionate in the job and truly care about the company. It is also the first time in my career that I hear feedback given by stakeholders is private and confidential. This is my honest feedback as I was not given a chance to tell the HR department. Thank you for reading my 2 cents.

Pros

- Nice colleagues/peers - cheap gears - like minded team -

Cons

- worst management - hires people who does not have a clue about most stuff instead of promoting internally - advocates a lot of positivity in public but horrible behind the scenes - clueless people managing teams only to steal credit as theirs and blame fault to others
