Pros

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. Great people, superb clients, well-rounded learning experience. My team, and especially my managers, were intelligent, driven, experts in PR and our division's specialty, and most of all, made coming to work every day rewarding and exciting. Leaders were hands-on and took the time every day to teach me the in's and out's of the industry and explain the "why" behind each thing we did. They set the foundation for a successful career in PR and taught me a plethora of knowledge. This job gave me incredible opportunities working with a roster of category-leading brands to support and lead top-notch media relations, event production, co-branded partnerships, brand and celebrity spokespeople, and so much more. If you are a hard worker who want a hands-on job that will actually prepare you for a career in PR and leadership of a team, Nike Communications is the place. It is not for the faint of heart. You are challenged every day and need to put the time in, but once you earn management's trust, you are given independence and opportunity to drive clients' business and advance your career. Since leaving due to a move to another city, I have kept my relationships with my team members because they became meaningful and valuable people in my life. Overall, if you are a hard worker and go-getter who doesn't shy away from a challenge and is willing to put in the time to prove yourself, I urge you to consider Nike Communications. There's a reason this agency has such impressive clientele and has been in business for 35 years.

Cons

Long hours and demanding clients, but these are what shaped me and taught me how to succeed in whatever situation is thrown my way.

Pros

- opportunity to dip your toes into everything (writing, media relations, event coordination, project management, opportunity to interact with clients and leadership team at Nike) - exposure to amazing clients and creative colleagues - amazing colleagues who have turned into lifelong friends - creative AND strategic environment

Cons

- with the landscape changing by the minute, it was sometimes difficult to manage expectations, but I have found this at every job.

BEWARE! Great clients but not great people or environment

Pros

-Agency has a lot of great clients in the spirits and lifestyle industry and traveling for events was a nice part of the job.

Cons

Beware if you are going on an interview here! They will try sell with the great clients they have and tell you your job will be tough but wonderful at the same time, don't believe it. You will work an exhaustive amount of hours for not a great salary plus the benefits are almost non-existent - aka you don't even get a real vacation until your 1st anniversary. Upper management here has unreal expectations of when emails should be responded to and get ready to never have a break or be able to take a day for the rest of your life if you take a job here. Overall, the environment was really negative and the office space did not foster creativity or a real teamwork environment as many people are very catty and form cliques to talk about the people they don't like in the office instead of trying to forge positive relationships. Recommend looking at other agencies that treat their employees as though they actualy value them.
