Pros

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. Great people, superb clients, well-rounded learning experience. My team, and especially my managers, were intelligent, driven, experts in PR and our division's specialty, and most of all, made coming to work every day rewarding and exciting. Leaders were hands-on and took the time every day to teach me the in's and out's of the industry and explain the "why" behind each thing we did. They set the foundation for a successful career in PR and taught me a plethora of knowledge. This job gave me incredible opportunities working with a roster of category-leading brands to support and lead top-notch media relations, event production, co-branded partnerships, brand and celebrity spokespeople, and so much more. If you are a hard worker who want a hands-on job that will actually prepare you for a career in PR and leadership of a team, Nike Communications is the place. It is not for the faint of heart. You are challenged every day and need to put the time in, but once you earn management's trust, you are given independence and opportunity to drive clients' business and advance your career. Since leaving due to a move to another city, I have kept my relationships with my team members because they became meaningful and valuable people in my life. Overall, if you are a hard worker and go-getter who doesn't shy away from a challenge and is willing to put in the time to prove yourself, I urge you to consider Nike Communications. There's a reason this agency has such impressive clientele and has been in business for 35 years.

Cons

Long hours and demanding clients, but these are what shaped me and taught me how to succeed in whatever situation is thrown my way.

Pros

Cons

The Pay is low across the board, they make a song and dance every year about performing salary equity analysis in comparison to other PR firms around the same size but it's total BS. You will be paid less than your peers regardless of the team or position you hold. Additionally, the tech they utilize is awful. You're going to get set up on a hand me down that's a blink away from fully dying. Even the brand new right out of the box devices sometimes have major issues. C-Suite and Finance would rather save budget on VP bonuses than invest in agency wide new laptops. It's all very short sighted, they would rather incrementally purchase new devices and give them out to more senior staff with device issues and to new senior hires, those on older devices will have to wait until theirs fully dies before they even think about setting you up on a new one. Finally, unless you're on one of the PR teams don't even think about upwards mobility. Every other team from HR to Finance to even parts of Digital will eventually hit a ceiling in promotions. Not like the promotions matter much anyway, you'll get a nominal increase but your day-to-day responsibilities stay the same but know you have additional work to do as well! So you end up still feeling junior.
