Pros

- The Company does offer great benefits and perks. - Exciting projects to work on - There are great people who care about the brand, the people and the work that we do.

Cons

- Massive re-orgs and layoffs every 12-18 months that impact 1000+ people. - Role and responsibility changes due to layoffs, forcing people into jobs that they do not want to do and changing the direction of their careers at Nike. - No career building regardless of what they promise. - Work load went from 65+ hours for 10 months to 30 hours for 2 months of the year. - Employees are nothing more than a number due to the size of the Company. - They have large amounts of ETW (Contract workers) that are business critical but are treated like second class citizens who spend years working as ETWs in hopes to get hired hired on as full time FTEs. - So many of the benefits and perks offered go unused since most people don't know what is available to them. - Moral bobs up and down like a yoyo throughout the year leaving large groups of people feeling unmotivated and unappreciated. - Some Managers are horrible at their jobs and should not be allowed to manage. - There are lot of BIG egos that clash on a regular basis making for an awkward work life.

Pros

- Work/life balance, - unlimited time off, - extra Nike-specific days off, - focus on sport (if that’s your thing)

Cons

- Yes-man culture. Don’t ever complain or say everything negative if you want to get promoted. Nike is the best at everything (they think) - no feedback culture, unless it’s positive - Directors and sr. Directors are completely clueless about analytics and only care about it when it helps their own personal agenda - PM and PO are often people with no product experience (mostly coming from business) and no long term product vision - almost no focus on data science projects. Most of the “DS” in EHQ are former analysts with little coding knowledge - leadership likes to use big words like AI and ML in presentations but there is no short or long term plans. It’s just a red herring - promotions are mostly based on tenure and knowing the right people - surprisingly not that international. Most leaders (directors and up) are Dutch and many product teams are fully Indian or Dutch. - the analytics org is a mess. In 2 years at least 2 big changes have happened and still not all analytics teams belong to the same family. Good luck if you are in the wrong team!

Pros

You can say "I worked for Nike" when the burnout finally reaches you. Exposure to a slew of cool tools that have been poorly implemented and likely aren't well maintained. Use multiple cloud providers for no good reason.

Cons

Management is terrible, no upward mobility, no prospects for raises even in good financial times, high burnout, work is extremely siloed, pay doesn't meet the industry, CISO and all of the former crew of a credit card company (MC) are terrible.
