Pros

- Looks good on resume - 50% discount at company store - Okay benefits

Cons

- No work life balance: In my group you have to work 12h+ a day to keep your head above water. This lasted for more than a year with no end in sight until I quit. - 'Who you know' is way more important than 'what you know'. While this is true for any big company it is especially true for Nike. Forget about working hard, here you need to have connections to get ahead. - Very disorganized place - sometimes you ask yourself how can this be a successful multi-billion dollar company. - Little to no support for new employees - a few hours of 'knowledge transfer' and you on your own. - Enormous turnover - a revolving door of people coming and going. - The way ETWs are treated as second class citizens and given false hopes that one day they may be converted. Contracting agencies are more to blame for that but Nike is turning a blind eye so they can lure more people in. - The so called 'Leadership' is very weak, ineffective and quite frankly self serving

Pros

Competitive atmosphere can lead to superior accomplishments. Nike has an ethos of keeping everyone at top efficiency, at least sometimes.

Cons

Too much bait and switch when it comes to promises made of improved equipment and working conditions. Totally political and unfair treatment of employees when it comes to raises. It's basically a high school frat-rat and Mean girls corporate culture. Disgusting!

Pros

- Looks good on your CV. Nike invests millions in marketing and the brand image is excellent. Outsiders have no clue what working at Nike really means. - Good perks / Onsite gym - Good place if your priorities lie outside of work, if you do not care about your job or work ethics and are there to take advantage of the perks and flexibility. In other words: if you "fit in".

Cons

The culture is awful. Most people working at Nike for a few years have absolutely no ethics. Incompetence is rewarded and cronyism is the norm in this company. The ones who benefit from it are very proud of this "Nike way", the others become disillusioned and leave. Nothing is based on merit at Nike, the ONLY thing that matters is your ability to befriend the "right" people. The company culture favors unethical managers: lazy, uninspired, ignoring their responsibilities and their teams, gradually pushing well-meaning, high-performing employees into depression and, worst of all, getting rewarded for lying about their results and having connections. Thanks to their network, these incompetent managers move from one role to another and continue to make the company lose money and valuable employees years after years. Their own managers do not care: they are playing exactly the same political game. Employees never get the opportunity to give feedback. If they dare to open their mouths, they are bullied and discriminated against by their manager and his friends until they leave the company. Despite all this nonsense, Nike continues to make a lot of money and to have a good image thanks to a clever marketing strategy, but don't be fooled: this is one of the worst, most unethical places you can work at. If you are professional, want to perform and eventually grow: don’t go work at Nike. That would be a waste of your time and energy.
