Pros

Great pay, decent benefits and you get to work with some great people

Cons

With brutal layoffs, Microsoft has repeatedly demonstrated that they have NO regard for the human beings who work for them. They only care about money. To reduce costs, even though stock is at an all-time high and the company is worth over three TRILLION dollars, this year they laid off or fired thousands of loyal employees with an incredible cumulative amount of brain-power that they have spent decades recruiting, hiring and growing with no notice whatsoever. Looking for a career? Look for a company who wants to give you one instead of this one that just wants to bleed you dry and then throw you away.

Pros

Microsoft has a reputation as a great place to work. But I do not think that holds for positions in the Silicon Valley. The Mountain View office has many highly competitve workaholics which changes the dynamics of an entire department. It was a pressure cooker to keep up, even when I compare it to my start-up days.

Cons

High pressure and long hours
