Great benefits, salary and growth opportunities
Pros
-The benefits can't be beat: Meta has excellent health insurance, child care assistance, family care assistance (elderly parents), pet care assistance, mat/pat leave, as well as a whole plethora of amazing benefits (pay for things like laundry, internet for remote employees, IVF, tax consultants, legal consultants, and the list goes on) -The i18n team is really fabulous. I have never worked in such a supportive environment where I felt I could continuously learn and grow. SO MANY talented people from so many diverse backgrounds -The salary is really top notch. I interviewed with multiple other companies and had 2 competing offers and Meta's was the best base salary offer (you also get RSU/stocks and a bonus percentage) -Internal mobility is great which opens up a lot of career/growth tracks -My work impacts millions of people around the world, you can trace your work to impact and really change lives and that's exciting -Work/life balance: this is my first job in i18n that I can clock off after 5pm and not feel pressured to work after hours or on weekends. It is really life changing. I don't know if this is the case for ALL LPMs, but it most definitely is for my pod/team.
Cons
-In such a large company, teams can feel siloed. This sometimes leads to work duplication and does not always optimize my time/efforts/expertise. This is a common problem I have seen in other companies as well -Meta builds all of their internal tools (so for i18n this means our own TMS, CAT tools, but also our own ticketing/tracking system, internal comms systems etc). This is clunky and sometimes feels like we are really far behind tooling wise (and sometimes makes my job harder) -Overall, not a lot of complaints!
