Pros

Great medical benefits, tuition reimbursement is 7K for undergraduate and 10k for graduate level employees. 401K match is up to 6%, Salary is competitive. Annual bonuses are contingent upon how your business unit performs for the fiscal year. If targets are reached, then you can actually receive more that your incentive target based on your performance evaluation as well. Free coffee, tea, hot cocoa. Every Wednesday, bagels, fresh fruit and donuts are provided. Company meetings are usually held over the lunch hour and are catered

Cons

We're in uncertain times, so of course Medtronic has to look out for their bottom line and if that means trimming some fat, then they're going to do so. Communication is lacking from senior management. Over the last year, many of the employees have found out about significant changes in the company through the rumor mill faster than from any management source.

Pros

Good paying industry. Able to move within the company and change function.

Cons

Experience as employee is totally dependent on who is your manager and the quality of managers vary hugely.

Pros

Good company, solid cash flow. Fairly stable industry to work in. Good opportunity to advance, and the benefits are good as well. Although there are some layoffs coming up, in general, it is pretty secure. There are lots of bright, hardworking people at Medtronic, and people really seem to have a sense of accomplishment. Strong performance is generally recognized, and rewarded. It is a great company to have on your resume as well, and people are generally able to recognize the company name, no matter what industry they happen to work in. Plus, the company is sixty plus years old, and that gives some idea that they will be around for a long time.

Cons

Not too many. Because it is such a large company, sometimes you can feel a little lost in the shuffle.
