Pros

agency recruiting experience, location close to home. good way to get foot in the door in the recruiting field.

Cons

upper management has no people skills - great bs'er but cannot manage people except through fear and intimidation. hq has awful infrastructure - right hand does not know what left is doing. also - no corporate credit cards to use for any expenses, have to put out own money and get reimbursed, even for travel - puts huge strain on personal budget!

Pros

A few nice colleagues. Nothing else that I can think of

Cons

-Said training is provided but their training is basically a short time of teaching and then you are expected to be independent, make no mistakes and know how things work as if you’ve been working there for years a few short months into the job. -Managers don’t value their employees -HR is unprofessional -New hires are thrown in the deep end then get blamed for everything (e.g. for making mistakes, for not asking enough questions even tho you’re told to be independent bcus everyone is too busy with their own work, for not taking enough notes)

Pros

If you're desperate for experience then yes - go to Manpower as a recruiter then get out as soon as other companies start reaching out to you.

Cons

I spent several years with Manpower in their Harcourt Street office as a consultant. Firstly, my longevity in the organisation would not have been achieved without the fantastic team members (Not Management) I had throughout my two years. Their support and positivity was outstanding! But that is where the positives stop. Manpower is nothing more than an organisation to gain professional experience in for a year, and then move on from. Their archaic methods and processes of working allow them to abuse their power and manipulate staff. You are simply a number and do not have any flexibility or autonomy as Manpower Ireland operate like they are still in the 80's. Ridiculous targets and KPI's are combined with an equally ridiculous commission structure (commission FAR LESS than industry averages). No recognition is given for your hard work unless you overachieve which is hard to do given Manpowers limited clients and poor reputation amongst companies. A stagnant Senior Management team do not care about nurturing and growing their talent, nor do they care about embracing 21st century work practices or winning new business. They simply treat the office as a school and they are the teachers. Staff are children who know nothing and they know everything - refusing to listen to anyone; this is why they have an incredibly high turnover rate of employees and very low satisfaction rates. But don't just take my word for it, look at LinkedIn profiles of staff and see how long they've been there, or better yet, reach out and ask what they truly thought of Manpower. Also, you may find colleagues simply don't show up to work anymore because they hate it that much, so might be difficult to make Amy work mates. So if you want an organisation that lacks career development, competitive renumeration and an amazingly unqualified senior management team then get on down to Manpower Harcourt Street! You won't be disappointed (Spoiler alert, you most likely will be cheated out of salary increases/commission on a regular basis and if you confront management you'll be bullied out).
