Several options for healthcare plans, including free plans.

Favoritism, Low salaries, no accountability, management prefers speed over accuracy or problem solving, "Bandaid method", competition is anything but healthy, extremely low morale overall

Pros

The middle and lower management, engineers, and factory workers, are extremely qualified and dedicated employees, which makes for a good working environment and a great product and after sale support. This dedication has kept the company together, despite the poor management at the top.

Cons

The top level management, except for the CFO, are unrealistic, expect 24/7 work and accessibility to employees on vacations and holidays as well, basically lacking people management skills and sensitivity to personal lives. This is not the place to work for professional career development, unless the top management were to leave and someone with real management skills were to come in to run the company. The list is endless of good people that have come and gone.

Pros

Stable pipeline of work, diverse range of projects, major engineering employer in Scotland.

Cons

It's a nice place to coast and retire, but not a good place to thrive. There isn't really a "culture", it's more a building full of individuals working alone. Colleagues certainly aren't openly hostile, but there's a pervading attitude of gloom and regressiveness. Success is defined as invoking process, obstructing change and scoffing at new ideas. It's a very wasteful and bureaucratic environment. A project is usually a whole floor of middle managers sending powerpoints back and forth, with one stressed-out grad in the corner on Matlab doing all the real work. The outcome is overspent and delayed projects, whilst the project team pat themselves on the back for following process. A lot of people are complimentary of the work/life balance and pension but I don't get it. WFH isn't a serious option and there aren't really other benefits apart from free instant coffee, and the pension is generous in % terms but ends up lagging in £ terms due to low salaries.
