Pros

Fantastic training programs both optically, and management programs. Benefits, teambuilding, and customer service USED to be a priority.

Cons

I started Lenscrafters pre-Luxottica as an apprentice optician. I soon procured my License, and was promoted to a General Manager. Luxottica came into the picture several years later, and everything changed. They no longer wanted to pay for knowledge, nor cared about Associate Satisfaction. They also made it very clear that you were either on board or someone else would be. They worked off of fear, and found any reason to put people out. Very upsetting, as they lost extremely loyal, knowledgeable employees. To add insult to injury, they made them unrehirable at any Luxottica owned company.

Pros

Free glasses, great co workers, good for beginners

Cons

Poor management. Managers are never qualified to be leaders of optical but just to manage staff. Always something corporate tells to make more money. Pushy sales

Pros

The group that I worked with were very seasoned individuals and knew what they were talking about. It was very helpful in training a new employee, or help troubleshoot.

Cons

The company as a whole, treats their employees terribly. If you think you can work your way up, YOU'RE WRONG. They don't want to pay you accordingly, even after becoming licensed, and they'd rather hire management with NO optical experience. It was hard to trust your management's decisions when you had more optical knowledge than they did. And trying to get a full time position? Good Luck!
