Pros

It is a very fun job if you like talking to people. There is opportunity for advancement if you really like working for the company.

Cons

Unless you're an Optician or have been taught how to do repairs on frames then you will have to ask for help when people come in to have their glasses fixed or adjusted. Hours can be sporadic if you're looking for part-time

Pros

Stable work environment, great training on the job compared to many other companies in the field. Training is considered among the best by future employers should you move on, including lens knowledge, reimbursed certification fees, and skills like manual lensometry.

Cons

Often poorly managed, chaotic environments. Systems can be inaccessible or confusing at times, many limitations, too many "sales" to keep track of from week to week, etc. Employees have no say in frame stock available unlike with traditional opticals.
