Pros

A good learning experience for optics, if you have a good team (like anywhere) it can even be fun.

Cons

Poor pay, I was given a promotion which included a lot more responsibility with no increase in compensation. The GMs and RMs really only care about the numbers, not the employees or the patients.

Pros

While full-time employees are not offered vision insurance, they give you one free eye exam and one free pair of glasses each year.

Cons

They really push you to sell no matter what the best interest of the customer is. I felt pressured to sell features/products to customers even if they need them and/or couldn't afford them. Corporate doesn't seem to care about the customers, just the sales and the numbers. The system is also not very user friendly and allows transactions that are against the rules, and even illegal (insurance issues)

Pros

Free pair of glasses each year.

Cons

Not enough hours allotted to provide good customer service. HUGE mistake closing in-store labs. Commissions used to be great, not any more. Store goals are high and commissions are based on making or exceeding goal. We are pushed to meet KPIs on top tier lenses. Upper management has no clue what they are doing. Way too much micro management at the district level. Top sales people in the company used to be recognized with bonuses, not any more. Not so much as a “you’re doing a great job!”
