They pay better than most other optical retail businesses.

Cons

Corporate is really heavy handed so the work can be super stressful. The micromanaging can be a bit much at times. Very demanding schedule, we are expected to work nights weekends and most holidays. It's difficult to maintain a health work/home life balance.

Decent benefits such as health insurance, dental. 401k, PTO and a free pair of glasses every year.

Cons

Toxic upper management that only cares about results. You can work hard all year, achieving all of your results. But as soon as you have a bad week or month. They are belittling you in emails with all of your peers to see. There is not enough doctor coverage for most stores. So if you’re store does not have a doctor scheduled, it becomes impossible to make you’re sales plan for the day. But then upper management puts the blame on the manager of the store and their team for not making numbers. Most of the time, there is not enough payroll to run the store efficiently either. And everyone on the team is stretched so thin.
