Losers on a power-trip

Pros

The benifits are pretty good if you can get them. One pair of free glasses a year. Discounted eye exams.

Cons

They hire idiots from outside of company who have no optical experience and get upset when you dont ask them for help because you know more than they do. A bunch of losers that didnt make it in life and plan to work at the mall for their entire lives and though you dont critisize them for it, they try to push their agendas onto you and are upset that when asked you clearly state your plans for life and making 15 dollars an hour ( or for some much less) for the rest of your life isnt one of them. Meet and exceed all of your goals and it wont matter if you dont hang out with management outside of work and arent friends with them. No security gaurds even though there are 1000 dollar frames in the strore. You are expected to stop all shoplifters even though the company will not prosecute them and they often just walk back into the store laughing at you for thinking you could stop them from stealing. It might be the easiest place to steal from, no scensors, no gaurds. Hours not garenteed and tampered with when convenient for the company which means you could lose your benifits at any moment and have to wait 6 months to get them back. Customers can be come extremely hostile and violent when they learn that a pair of glasses with us is on average 500 dollars but a mere 100 at very simular establishments. It also doesnt help that they know the cost of the lenses is about 1.50 and then sold for 400. If you want to learn the art of optics try a private office that foucuses on eyecare and not fast food retail selling tactics. But , if you are the type of person who likes to stay in abusive relationships and complain all the time but still dedicate yourself to the abusers cause no matter how many times they screw you over, this is the place for you!!!! If thats not you though ..... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

Pros

The best reasons to work at LensCrafters is the knowledge base you'll gain about the Optical Industry. They are very big on training. You'll also get a flexible schedule working morning or afternoon shifts so you can run errands, etc..and you'll always work at least 1 weekend day usually both Saturday and Sunday so you'll get up to 2 weekdays off which is always nice. Management may even allow you to switch shifts with a co-worker if you are in a non-management role.

Cons

Work-life balance is not great if you enjoy Holidays and weekends off. Since you're in a competitive retail position, your expected to work every Holiday and almost every weekend. The work environment can be very frustrating and busy on weekends and the office environment can be very immature/non-professional. When it's busy, you won't be allowed to take a break as sales always comes first.
