Co-workers, getting to see the newest eyewear styles before they release, free eye exam

Cons

Constant change in work procedures, you learn a new process only to have it changed again, heavy push to up-sell to people that can barely afford the most basic version of what you're offering, strict dress code

Pros

Free annual eye exam and glasses for all employees. Many holidays - extra pay not days off. PTO for full-time employees and diversity days. Flexible hours. Many opportunities to move up. Management listens to needs and concerns of employees.

Cons

Sometimes demanding for the pay. Commission has been severely cut and spiffs are disorganized with new POS system. Sales Goals are unreasonable some weeks.

Pros

There are some professional people, and some of the opticians really know their stuff. I was a lab tech, and learned a lot.

Cons

Upper management is usually hired from the outside, usually with no optical experience. They expect a lot more out of their employees than is actually feasible, because they have no idea what it ACTUALLY takes to get a large volume of jobs out in an hour.
