Pros
LensCrafters has very flexible scheduling, when I was a student they seamlessly worked around my availability unlike other optical companies and let me have large amounts of time off for things like month long international missions trips. Very little workplace drama and it's very high energy. It's and interesting mix between medical and retail.
Cons
There is very little upward movement. They do not promote from within or have anything in place to cultivate upward movement for prospective leaders. Making commission almost never happens, even in the busiest store in the whole state of Michigan and several surrounding states. On average 50 centers per pair of glasses sold is laughable, it shouldn't even be called commission. There are no yearly reviews based off of performance to increase pay. You just end up being stuck with what you were hired in at aside from a "cost of living" raise which is about 23 cents an hour.
