Pros

Global experience - plenty of opportunity to work with people all over the world like China, Japan, India, Mexico, Brazil, Europe (Hungary, ie). Many positions require travel (esp to China). Also opportunity for short-term or long-term assignments abroad. Work/life flexibility - people are treated as professionals to manage their own time. As long as your work is done, they are not clocking your time. Also allow you to utilize PC for personal business (with access to virtually any website). good benefits - health/dental insurance is average, 401K match is good, disability benefits are good, on-site gym & cafeteria, some "off cycle" prizes for good performance

Cons

poor management, don't value internal talent, although "worldsourcing" is a company value - most U.S. employees must be in NC (few remote workers)

Pros

Interesting China angle. Very global company. All employees get exposure to global issues. Many jobs have lots of responsibility--very lean staffing (too lean in some areas). This can be very rewarding in that you can drive entire projects without "decision by committee" mentality.

Cons

Lack of communication/trust between China and US operations. Management in some departments is horrible, whereas in other areas, employees seem satisfied. Lenovo lags its peers in profitability, so the business is risky and employment is in flux. China/US pay inequality gets used against US employees. Can be on the job 24 hours with partners on a 12 hour time shift.

Pros

Interesting products and fast pace environment, so it is hard to get bored. Employees are empowered to understand their part of the business and make importnat decisions every day.

Cons

Extremely tough industry that is highly sensitive to the overall economic environment. We struggle with setting a clear strategic vision and then implementing an execution plan to realize our goals.
