      Manipulative and unfair management

      - Free lunch, snacks - Good personal time offs - Nice office location in town

      Cons

      - Management doesn't care about your growth, they pretend to do so when it is time for reviews - No action, only words - management will try to convince you they are on your side, believe me they are not - Lots of feedback collected on different levels but almost no action, follow ups on them - Engineering leadership cannot resolve conflicts between product and engineering - Time wasting and inefficient performance evaluation process

      good company, but inefficient systems engineering org

      Pros

      Indeed has a fantastic work culture. Everyone is smart, friendly, they treat the engineers extremely well, we have great benefits, and it's a joy to come to work. We have big technical projects, but don't have to break our backs to get them done. Compensation is among the highest in the Austin area. I'm proud to work here.

      Cons

      The engineering org is unusually political. If you need a project that introduces new technology, it's not enough to make a good technical case, but I've found you need to appease individuals in the "global infrastructure"/"systems engineering" organization. Without their approval they'll actively block your work; and even with their approval, they'll take months to do the work necessary to let you do your work while imposing unusual access restrictions in the name of cost and security. Almost my entire team is operating at 33% efficiency as we're blocked on systems engineering efforts to move forward. There needs to be some alignment among senior leadership on how we choose to empower developers to occasionally break the mold.

      The product was bad and hence shutdown. Team members were supposed to interview for other teams or lose job

Indeed continuously reviews our products and services to ensure we are providing relevant and valuable products to our business partners, as well as job seekers in that city. We believe you are referring to a product offering which we stopped providing locally two years ago. Unfortunately, after thorough internal research, we decided to stop offering that product, but were determined to ensure those working on that team found other opportunities within Indeed, where possible. As part of that process, some employees took on new roles with other teams. We continue to support those team members, and are happy to offer training and development opportunities to our staff so they continue to learn and grow within Indeed. We are also proud to offer several benefits for our staff in Hyderabad, including Open Paid Time Off, medical coverage, and employees are also able to receive gym reimbursement, among many other perks.
