Pros
Strategic vision Support for working at home, flex time Management tries to be very supportive of needing time to deal with personal issues Good vacation/benefits package Strong on sharing strategic focus, educating workers, encouraging self-development
Cons
Many years in a row of little to zero salary increase (as a top performer and consistently rated a top performer) Expect lay-offs every year (sometimes twice a year) with upper level management not being aware of who's going to pick up the extra work... mid-management re-distributes to the employees Excessive work load and long hours, which you put in to avoid being in the next round of lay-offs Yearly review process is a joke. You are pitted against your other colleagues, and management is forced to give rating on a bell curve (for every top employee, someone has to be given a poor rating). Politics will suck the life force out of you! Tendency for workers to only help you in a limited way, so you're constantly trying to seek more people for input to get a job done.
