Pros

Flexible Schedule, open till 9pm, which is great for getting a reliable babysitter! Guaranteed clientele, you will see the same crusty brats and crotchety old men every 3-4 weeks. Salons are usually in a good location and usually stay pretty busy, so busy that you may not get a break at all. You will also get to work weekends! They are open Saturdays and Sundays so that way instead of being with your family, you get to cut the hair of others enjoying their families.

Cons

Very low pay. Very cheap, dirty, and demanding customers. Corporate greed at it's finest. The franchisee's make way way too much money off you. For the type of clientele that come do not tip well, if even at all. Your co-workers are able to create "re-do" sheets when you are not there, claiming a customer complaint. They use these as tools to either fire you for personal reasons, or put you on "probation" to make you work the worst schedules without complaint.

Plenty of opportunities for a job.

Cons

Stop hogging up the damn news feed for job seekers looking for hair stylist jobs. We get it- you're always looking for employees. Okay. But most of us in the business are looking for more than being a part of your chop shop. Thanks.

Pros

Easy, good tips, great co workers, awesome clients

Cons

Great clips takes all complaints into consideration, I understand the customer is always right, but it is not fair when you always just give it to them for free, people are not always honest. If you are looking to further education, the training Gc offers is great as a new stylist starting out, but after that it's a joke, at least in my market the education is always the same classes. Hard to have an outside work life with no set schedule and always covering shifts. Franchisees don't understand how hard it is working full time let alone over time. No support from other franchisees, they are not very brand friendly, it almost feels like some treat certain owners salons over others. What happened to team, it's not just one or two salons it's the whole brand. Try to think about how we feel when we hear this.
