Pros

I was able to leave the store for lollipop runs which happened to be the highlight of my day

Cons

-was not respected by most of stylists -no former training on tills (worked there 6 months and still didn't know how to cash people -never told my schedule -had to clean glass shelves that weren't anchored to the wall, they fell on me a few times and the stylists didn't even flinch or ask if I was okay -I had to find my own replacement when I left and when I went on a predetermined vacation. (I was 15) and then had to train them.

We are sorry to see your frustrations while working in a Great Clips salon. Since each salon is independently owned and operated, your concerns can be best addressed by the franchisee. If you would like, you can email Jeanne@greatclips.com with the salon location where you were employed and details. We will provide your feedback to the franchisee so they can follow up with you. Thank you.

Pros

Flexible hours Benefits Hourly pay plus bonuses Room for growth Free training/education Great management staff My franchisee and his staff are wonderful. I have had room to move up in the company here where I have not in other salons. I have worked in many salons over the course of my career and Great Clips is where I intend to stay for the remainder of it. I couldn't ask for a better place to work.

Cons

No set schedule High turnover in some stores Some stores understaffed Some stores unorganized (Great Clips is a franchise so some stores aren't run as well as others)

Pros

Depending on location, you can be steady or busy all day. You don't need clientele, walk in only. The salon provides combs & products.

Cons

Being hired on full time means you can't have a life outside of work. Completely random schedule every week. If someone calls off they will expect you to pick up their shift no questions asked, if you don't they will make you feel guilty. Depending on the area you work in, you have to deal with some pretty gross clients (ones who don't know how to wash behind their ears.) You will be scheduled at other salons and not get any floating wage, sometimes an hour or more from where you live.
