Management fundamental problems!

Pros

While I was working at Gi Group and until understanding their lack of vision, strategy and top management abilities, it was a great working environment to be part of which gave me the chance to meet great people and develop professionally. I do regret the fact that this process has stopped at some point and the disfunctions of the young group came to surface.

Cons

The top management has a fundamental decision making problem, not carefully analyzing all the data, not considering all people and stakeholders opinion, actually I could say the decisions are taken by instinct or listening just to one-two managers, not necessary qualified but who gained the "trust" of the top manager. A typical issue in the small companies, but not acceptable in a group of this size. The above situation leads to wrong operational decisions and confusing strategies for the operational teams, with many changes and new added ongoing projects with out finding solutions to the previous initiated ones. From a qualitative approach the company moved to a quantitative approach, this way loosing professionals that helped building the company in various regions world-wide and attracting cheap unqualified people. Again, it was a great company to work for, but now I am sure it will be challenging for any professional that is willing to contribute and be part of a professional environment. Decision are taken in the ivory tower by a small group of people, independent of the field challenges and people’s opinion, fact that can become quite frustrating for the operational side. When I say decision I am not referring just to the group ones, but to the local ones as well. So their "glocal" strategy is simply not applied. Last but not least, many of the top and regional managers are lacking in critical managerial abilities, thus all is good until you have to directly interact with them, but of course it cannot be generalized. My personal case was, I didn’t leave the company, but the manager.

Pros

Good company with amazing HR policies in terms of working days and hours, good environment for female workers, good work-life balance. But worst team management, HR is less concerned about people leaving the job because of managers, supports people with high designation and power, takes no action. if selected for recruitment in IT vertical for Noida location, dont join, the AVP will make your life hell and would force you to leave the organization. Everyone is doing timepass, no growth, no decision-making. Coward to take decisions against manager even after so many complaints. AVP treats like slaves

Cons

HR will never take decision in favour of employee. Because of few people, GI will shut down soon.

Pros

Working hours & Working hours THAT'S IT!!!!

Cons

The list is endless: 1. Pathetic incentive policy (they follow half yearly cycle and you get just your basic minimum figure of 19,600 no matter what billing you did. So, its like for the cycle of January to June, they credit your incentive in November and for H2 it gets credited in May and that too just the basic amount of 19,600 and the rest gets paid after 4-5 months, no matter even if you have done 300% of your targets. Please come up with a better way to retain people. 2. No Growth : The company is apparently into losses since ages and they really don't have budgets for anything except for sending their top executives to Milan for 'TRAINING'. You will work & work hard and at the end they will come up with 2-3% or 0% of increment giving the lamest excuse everytime that they don't have budgets. 3. Worst HR & Finance department : The only people benefiting in this company are their Finance & HR department who are sitting there since independence. Finance has no solution for anything and not even the decency to talk properly to their employees and HR, well the only work they do is ordering lunches for themselves and organise independence day celebration by distributing samosa and laddoo :). You can go to them with any concern and the only reply you get is NOTHING. A team of 7-8 useless people and don't expect them to even support you with the recruitment. If you want someone in your team, please look for it yourself because HR is too busy ordering food and getting manicures. 4. Conning employees in the name of exposure : The top management sitting at insane CTC's expect you to do everything. A consultant sitting at a salary of 20k is expected to get new clients, make contracts, manage them, do closures with them, send them invoices and even follow up for the payments. The top management is just expected to do weekly meeting arranged by these Consultants only. And after everything, they expect you to be a top performer. SHAMELESS!! Worst Company for FEMALE employees : Can't write much here but if you are looking at a work life balance, PLEASE STAY AWAY!!! The most inhuman attitude they have towards females.
