      Pros

      Opportunities to learn a lot. Accepting additional responsibilities is encouraged. People are willing to help each other out, particularly training new employees.

      Cons

      Training is very informal, "learn as you go". Pay increases are very structured and give managers little latitude in being able to adjust an employee's pay if or when his/her skills grow.
