Pros

Some pros depend on your direct management in my view. - Depending on project, could gain some good experience, work environment could be good. - At some point it was possible to be recognized for hard work and client satisfaction. - Location if you like downtown. Also a con. - Good starting place as with many other IT organizations. - Acceptable benefits. Some better, some worse out there. - Decent social involvement for those interested.

Cons

- Depending on your direct management and their level of interest and involvement, you may have no support career wise; Growth, training, movement, etc.. - When consulting, client demands might actually stop your growth/movement if they see you as a critical asset to them (without proper and timely compensation if any). Thus you are a 'head' or 'resource'. - Compensation seems illogical most of the time for the skill-set required in comparison to large sized organizations within the industry. I've seen a an entry level helpdesk position in Ontario with the same salary as a senior consultant position? I realize that's not a clear scale, but something to ponder. - In reality, I personally see nothing special here. Again depending on your project and management, you could have a decent career. But in general, another IT organization where you should spend your 4 years and move on. Unless you move on considerably within the organization in a way not to harm your career.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.
