Pros

Free sodas and ice cream

Cons

You are just a number to them. You make money for them by working for their end client. The end client is all that matters to them. As soon as your assignment is complete with the end client, you are "benched". Bench policy is unknown, so if no other assignment comes along in an undefined time frame, you are terminated and so are your healthcare benefits that same day! Another possibility is being pulled from the end client abruptly for not being the right "fit" without adequate explanation of what this really means. They seem to care more about you turning in equipment than helping you to be redeployed to another client. There is supposed to be a "fulfillment team", but they are utterly useless. If you schmooze with the right people on the right floor, then you will have no trouble. If managers do not favor or like you personally, then you can forget about having success with this company. It's not about what you know or your abilities. I've never seen such a highly politicized, unprofessional, and underhanded environment. Your value to them is *only* as a revenue generating entity; churn and burn. In 10 months I was NEVER contacted by my manager at NTT Data to see how the assignment was going. Management is out of touch and the only concern is our ability to bill the client, whether we are actually doing billable work or not - which seemed a bit unethical to me.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.

Pros

- Strong global presence allows for diverse projects, clients, and opportunities - Enabled and encouraged to learn new technologies, use tools, and grow skills - Generally supportive teams and cross collaboration - Great work-life balance in many roles

Cons

- Compensation and raises can be slow, infrequency, and below market - Personal Development review process can be unclear and slow - Processes and decision making around them can feel very outdated, there seems to be a lack of structure and clarity around many HR and business operations areas - Very little employee recognition - Critical benefits information isn’t distributed well and there is zero follow up actions to ensure we have all important access/accounts set up
