Pros

Great Company prior to acquisition of NexusIS. Prior to the merger with Nexus, Dimension Data had great leadership, and great people, and followed the global strategy set by Dimension Data group. Benefits, compensation, and management all were what you'd expect from a global company.

Cons

The acquisition of NexusIS in 2014 began the rapid decline of the company. In late 2015, they virtually turned the company over to the Nexus leadership, I refer to Nexus as the K-Mart of the industry, due to their GTM strategy or 'discount provider' label. Although some of the good people are still there (departing rapidly), NexusIS has changed the brand of the company forever, and they are no longer a leader in the systems integrator space, they are simply a low end/low margin reseller, that hires low price, unqualified, and incapable talent. On top of that, the benefits participant share was doubled, and by doubled, I mean our cost for medical coverage doubled, and our deductibles doubled...and from what I understand from folks on the inside, they wage scale is dropping dramatically, which is a reason they are no longer able to attract talent.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.
