Pros

If there are several clubs in your immediate area, there are plenty of chances to find classes to sub using the online system. Although the equipment for group ex classes is fairly limited, it is generally consistent from club to club. No temperature control or fans in the studios, but the temperature is generally acceptable and the instructor doesn't have to worry about it. Free use of all clubs which are generally kept clean, standard for the industry but still a nice benefit.

Cons

Communication between instructors and their activities directors needs to be much better. It's great that the company provides music, but CDs get lost or scratched so the computerized music system needs to be in all the clubs. Not enough types of equipment for group ex or types of classes. No flexibility in the start times of classes, for example evening cycle classes only at 5:30 or 6:45 even if other times might work better at a particular club. Requirement for all the lights to be on for cycle and yoga classes. Pay below average with no raise for 7 years. We don't earn a living from instructing, but inflation has an effect.

Pros

Free access to the gym?

Cons

Pressured/forced to come in early without pay. Overwhelming amount of responsibility. Told not to take 10 minute paid breaks. Threatened job security over small things. Continuously adding new responsibilities, tasks, requirements for minimum wage. Taking commission if a payment declines or cancelation within 2 months of earning commission, it is subtracted from your pay or future commission.
