Pros

Good pension and health benefits. Good shower facilities. On site cafe is nice.

Cons

Location. Eastpoint is poorly served by public transport. Very few options for lunch or socialising with colleagues. Micro management is awful here, you essentially need to account for every minute of your day. Toxic atmosphere. Managers openly gossip and complain about other colleagues on the floor. Very few people managers, most people in management seem to be there because they are good with systems and product knowledge but have absolutely zero people skills. Wouldn't be comfortable approaching any manager with any issue or grievance for fear of being the topic of discussion at lunch as I have heard others being discussed this way. The dress code is overkill for a service centre. We dont have any clients onsite so honestly what is the point. Massive staff turnover, seems to be people leaving every single week and they are not being replaced which dumps more work on already overworked colleagues.

Pros

Disability benefits are on par. Compensation for the elite is good.

Cons

Minorities are not given the opportunity to excel in the various jobs within HR. The managers are very good at suppressing progress. Discrimation, Retaliation, suppression, biasnes , unfairness is culture. Managers encourage division and take of "their own".

Pros

-Filled with talent and ambitious people that get things done, learned so much in my time there -Management recognizes performance, and will identify you and put you on the fast track to a promotion, so you can earn your way up there if you're young and not worry about being behind someone that's been there longer but not a high performer like you are, it's definitely more merit based -On the forefront of addressing/solving the most cutting edge/emerging issues/problems/etc. in banking

Cons

-Comp structure for AVP and below is just a base, then quarterly recognition bonus of 5% (eligible to get this quarterly, up to 2 quarters in a year, so 10% max a year), and then a 5% variable bonus, so if you're not recognized as a high performer, you might only get your base + the 5% variable -Once you get VP and above, you'll get base + a variable bonus again (20%+ depending on your role and level), but internal promotion raises are not great (9-15% raises) -Lots of bad press directed at DB right now, so reputation might be down, but bank is not going anywhere, anytime soon
