Pros

You gain a lot of experience

Cons

- lunches are free but they are horrible. You do not expect this from a place like Burberry - management does not exist. - the hierachy at Burberry is insane. Never worked in a place like this - you do not get breaks. No lunch breaks everyone eats in front of their computer - you are never there for the right working hours, its always over time/weekends and the company does not pay your for the extra time - as an assistant you work a lot, and are not paid for it. You are expected to do so many things every single day, but do not have time for it. - Management talks to you like you are stupid. - some work takes you ages and is flagged as a priority but then no one looks at it - you are expected to work non-stop all day

Pros

Generally the team on the shop floor are lovely people. The issue lies in management. You also get reasonable discount if you actually want to buy anything.

Cons

I had high expectations when I stared working at Burberry over 2 years ago but it's slowly sucked all the life out of me. Incredibly high expectations and pressure for very little reward or recognision. Anything that you may achieve will be forgotten or management will take credit for. High staff turnover. People get depressed working in store. It is also very difficult to build any kind of career here. They don't allow you to grow. Working here makes you feel like a disposable commodity not a human being.
