Pros

The pay was good. The people I worked with were a great bunch of guys. ( not management)

Cons

Management needs to learn how to manage. You don’t run a shop as if your king. You need employees to give subjections and you must listen to them. Never think that you are the smartest one in the room because usually your not even close. I was stuck on the same machine and was never t aloud to move around even though others with far less years of experience were. The only reason I could figure for this was because I was HIV positive and that scared them. Why do I say this? Well they never had blood contaminant training until I got there and when they did, the instructor kept looking at me. In all of my forty something years of machining no one has ever contracted HIV from me. NO ONE.

Pros

Years ago this company was a dream to work for. Every single person pulled their weight towards the collective goals. The attitude was get'r done. You either pick up a wrench and get to work or get out of the way. The ability to see your individual contributions directly pushing the program meant long hours and hard work were met with enthusiasm. Sadly this culture is long gone due to the sheer number of hoops that must be jumped through to compete even the simplest task. Regardless of the effort put forward, a mountain of needless bureaucracy ensures you'll be put in your place. I do genuinely believe everyone at the company wants it to succeed despite the frustrations.

Cons

In almost 10 years of a professional career I have never seen a company become so crippled by self imposed indecision, process, and procedure. I'm still not sure how a company with limitless funding and no shareholders has found a way to move slower than government agencies. If you are an engineer who likes to roll up your sleeves, dig in, and grind until a problem is solved I cannot in good faith recommend this company until a change in direction occurs.

Pros

- When I first started, there was a sense of vision: "millions of people living and working in space" - Overall, I really enjoyed working with my coworkers - Teams can provide a sense of community and support

Cons

- Another reviewer seems to believe that negative reviews are fake. I can attest that I heard many of these negative sentiments from coworkers during my time at the company. This type of 'cheerleader' reviewer was the last straw for me. Things are not sunny at Blue for many employees. - I left for another engineering position and now wonder why it took me so long to realize that Blue was an abusive workplace for me - no consideration for my personal development or goals with a side of negativity and blame every time I brought up an issue.
