Dynamic and fun, yet not cutting edge technology

Pros

Company is really dynamic - changes happen virtually every few months so you won't get bored. Environment is very good too - people are by and large friendly and supportive. Managers trust you with a lot of responsibility from early days. Performance is expected and rewarded.

Cons

The more people spent with the company the more they buy into the "Bloomberg way" of doing things even if it is against common sense and/or market practices. In particular, the technology foundations are fairly outdated and a lot of the time is spent fighting against the setbacks of existing systems as opposed to designing and delivering cutting edge solutions to clients.

Great benefits, collegial environment. New York building is amazing - food is everywhere and views are beautiful.

Cons

Feel like another cog in the machine, worry about company's ability to innovate. Management in some departments is inexperienced.

The work is challenging and very rewarding. The company cares a lot about its employees and it shows through the competitive compensation, great benefits, and access to whatever you need to get the job done.

Cons

The experience can vary depending on the team you are on. I have friends who are in groups that they don't enjoy very much.
