Pros

People in DC are down to earth, work is intriguing and keeps you engaged and excited. Good experience for the resume.

Cons

Everything is political and tied to some larger ambition. Roles are often undefined and siloed and ineffective. Promotions are rare and pay is dependent on equity which vests slowly.

Pros

Lots going on but it’s on you to identify the right people to work with.

Cons

Hard work doesn’t mean promotions.
