Pros

Ability to own large scale projects. Great benefits Great work culture Flexible hours Exciting business as growth is continuing

Cons

Can be fast paced for people used to slow paced environments. Change is constant at amazon. With its exploding growth employees tend to be on their toes at all times.

Pros

The company is dog-friendly and the dress code is casual (see ya, high heels!). The expansion/growth strategy is staggering and it's kind of cool to get to go into all the new buildings in Seattle.

Cons

There are very few perks (just three, actually: 1) dog-friendly, 2) casual dress, and 3) free tampons) and the total benefit package is lackluster. Most work spaces are "high density", which means an open area crammed full of desks, such that it's too loud to even have work-related phone calls from your desk. Your compensation package will be stock-rich and base poor. Do not expect annual base increases to even match typical cost of living increases. A 2.5% increase is rare. Instead, you might get stock grants for two years in the future (but will you be able to stay long enough for vesting?). Amazon does not believe in motivating behaviors through any sort of positive reinforcement.
