      It really depends on the team and the department you are going to work in.

      Pros

      Prague department is in general quite decently skillful and you can meet outstanding engineers working there. Working conditions are just great: powerful laptops, huge curvy monitors, comfortable chairs.

      Cons

      Absa is based in South Africa with the headquarter in Johannesburg. Everything that needs to be organized going to be a problem. If your colleagues are in Africa, then it is you who suffers from the remote communication. It is them who makes key decisions and your Prague department is basically to do what they say. Your voice can be heard but rarely taken into account.

      Pros

      You get the best tools to do your job. Currently there is an amazing transformation going on the company to refocus the products. Top notch offices and canteen.

      Cons

      If you're placed at JHB, you'll quickly get a sense of the internal politics that some of the managers are playing in. Ignore that, keep doing what you do best and you'll be recognized.
