I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vodafone (Gillingham, England) in Nov 2016
Interview
November- I applied online. x amount of days later I was told I needed to do a video interview. I prepared haaaaard for this stage and used what I had learned for a previous company's video interview (eg maintain eye contact. Eye contact is talking to your camera, NOT the screen). The MAIN thing companies look for is your personality (smile, joke, move your hands, change your talking speed). I felt more comfortable as the questions went on. Also, wear a smart shirt.
Here are examples of potential questions-Tell me one thing you’re really passionate about and why? What drives and motivates you to meet or exceed your personal goals or targets? What do you think is teamwork? What excites you about this role at Vodafone?
The next week I received a phone call saying I was successful which was a huge and pleasant surprise. I REPEAT- FOR THE VIDEO INTERVIEW, THE MAIN THING IS SHOW YOUR PERSONALITY and obviously impress with your answers.
During this phone call I was given a lot of information about what to do for the next stage- a follow up email is sent.
For the 1 to 1 interview in the store you have 1 week to prepare a sales pitch on a fictional futuristic invention. I chose the hardest of a choice of 3- a flying suit. Again, I put soooooo much effort into this! (most people will pick another option-flying car).
I felt more relaxed and was able to really impress as my sales pitch went on (my flying suit was great btw. Diagram and EVERYTHING)
After your pitch the manager will ask you to do a role play [info will be given- you have 15min to prepare]. Because my interviewer was great this allowed me to COMPLETELY relax and really impress A LOT MORE than I would've ever imagined.
Then it's the usual interview questions- Who are our main competitors? What do you notice when you enter one of our stores? etc etc. Dress smart. I wore a red tie.
I was successful. I was told about the background check and was given a provisional start date in December.
I haven't been able to start yet (today's date) because of a complication in my documents but 2 weeks ago I decided to email the careers team asking for suitable roles in my area. Bla bla bla I have been offered a new contract with way more ours for a start date later this month! (I still have to pass the background check. You will ALL have to pass this check.
Yes the whole interview process was challenging (mainly due to the effort I put in) but I loved it. The structure and the tasks are great.
Hi there, thanks a lot for leaving a detailed feedback! We're happy to hear that you had a very positive experience and completed the recruitment process with enthusiasm. Welcome to the team!
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vodafone (Londra, Inghilterra) in May 2017
Interview
At first you submit your CV, once that's done you will be emailed in regards to a video interview which is simple and easy to follow as long as you have researched the company and know what to say. Once you have completed that, someone will contact you for an interview however, mine did take up to two weeks but the role I applied for had already been taken so I did my own research and looked for other vacancies near me and had found one, contacted them and they set a date for my face to face interview. This was my favourite, my manager was so lovely so my nerves did automatically die down straight away, first I did a presentation (you will be emailed a brief beforehand), following that I did a role play and after I had my interview.
Overall, I loved the experience and definitely made me aware that there are jobs out there who will take you for the person you are and will love you! I was so nervous and was trying to read as many reviews as possible but I realised some are very outdated and it was hard. My advice to you would be act yourself and be confident, it will pay off! Good luck
Hi there, thanks a lot for leaving your feedback on the recruitment process. We're glad to hear that you've had a very positive experience, especially how the final interview made you feel comfortable and relaxed. We wish you all the best in your career with us!
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Vodafone in Feb 2017
Interview
I applied for the job via Indeed, I was emailed a game assessment about a week later to complete ASAP - this assesses how you react to things in the game and will give you a breakdown of how well you've done.
If successful after this stage, you will do a video interview which you must complete within 3 days of receiving. Nothing hard, just competency based questions.
If successful after this stage, you will be contacted to do a face-to-face interview. You have to do a presentation to sell a product (there will be a brief in the email), a customer scenario and the interview. I haven't done the interview yet but will update soon.
