Interview
Phone interview - Began with an introduction of the two employees - one a process engineer and the other a mining engineer. The interviewers do not really give any feedback or response to the questions asked as they are writing down your answers during the full duration. Questions consisted of working with people with different cultural backgrounds, working in a team with conflict, why shell, why energy industry. The interviewers ask several follow up questions regarding each question for example how did the person react? how did you measure success in that situation?. Overall the interview experience is very stressful and the questions are very similar to each other so make sure not use the same example twice. I was contacted a day before the interview which has happened to several of my friends and I think that is done by the company to measure how well you can prepare in a small time. I was informed 2 days later that I was not moving forward to the second round in SRD. You will be informed in a week if you are accepted to SRD
My advice would be to make sure you have well thought out questions and actual situations and not talk to fast during the interview. The experience overall is also based on the interviewer as well. One of my interviewers seemed in a rush and not interested in the interview as she kept asking me to hurry with my answer. Regardless I was able to learn about the process and enhance my interview and communication and interview skills with this opportunity.
Best of luck!

Interview
I went through the Graduate Program recruitment in Fall of 2014. I started by applying to the program online in September and was sent two brief online assessments to complete. One tested personality-type decision making and the other basic math skills (the test is incredibly short in time though so difficult to complete). After passing this I completed a phone interview - focused on past experiences and CAR (capacity, achievment, relationship). I was then invited to a Shell Recruitment Day. The day itself was excellent. I completed the day with 5 others. The assessors were all employees at Shell and spent the whole day with us, rotating for each activity. We started with an online email simulation (mostly multiple choice and a short written assignment) and then a group case study activity. We completed a reflection interview regarding the two previous activities. There was then an individual case study (given some info, what decision would you make and why) and finally a general interview (very similar to the phone interview). I passed the Recruitment Day and was placed in a "pool of candidates" available for hire. At the beginning, it seemed very hopeful that I would be placed somewhere. For a while, updates were frequent and I was even sent a job description for a possible placement. Now (a year later), I have not received any updates in several months. I have heard of this happening to several of my classmates, successfully completing the recruitment only to not receive an offer. Recruitment Day was an excellent experience and I would definitely do it again, but the communication and follow-through has been less than great.

Interview
