I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meta (Menlo Park, CA) in Jan 2019
Interview
Took about two months, from when my resume was submitted by a Facebook employee through when a decision was made.
I had a phone screen with the recruiter. That went well enough for next step.
Scheduled for a phone screen with the person whose job I’d be sharing. I asked to have it in person, and FB arranged it. That was a mix of technical and behavioral questions. That went well enough for next step.
Facebook recruiting sent me the list of people I’d meet, what type of interview it would be, and a lengthy list of resources for preparing for the interview.
In person interviews with 6 people, with some technical, some design, and some behavioral questions about dealing with teams.
Several weeks later I was told they were going with another candidate.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How did I deal with difficulties with team members; asked me to design WhatsApp, end to end; and various questions about challenges that TPMs would likely face. All seemed relevant to the job. I did think they were light on the technology that I’d be actually overseeing, which was odd, or I had proven myself with first tech screen.

Interview
First step is an interview with a FB recruiter who evaluates your skills sets. If recruiter is convinced with your abilities/skill sets match the job requirements/FB culture, you will have a second round of interview which is usually a phone interview with the hiring manager or someone from the team. This interview entirely focuses on your background, technical competencies and your passion.

Question 1
Give an example where you had to convince/enroll your team on your point of view. How and what did you do to achieve that

Interview
Was referred by a friend. Recruiter emailed me about a week later to schedule the 1st phone screen. Had a 1-hour phone call with a current TPM. They made a scheduling mistake and called 3 hours before the agreed upon time. The call went over the 45-minute time limit due to questions and continued discussion. Generally, the phone screen seemed to go quite well. Not clear why they decided not to move forward.
