I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Life Time (Minneapolis, MN) in May 2019
Interview
Five part process. Including call with regional recruiter, meeting with PT manager, practical assessment, meeting with general manager, and final call with an education manager. Was all pretty straight forward. Practical assessment was just a mock complimentary training session with a manager. Not a bad process, took about a week longer to give me a decision than they promised. Led to me burning a bridge with another employer unfortunately.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Life Time (Dallas, TX) in Apr 2019
Interview
Lengthy but quick interviewing process.
Had 4 interviews in total.
First interview was with the Personal Training Manager. We toured the facility, went over my background and my goals.
Second was a Practical Interview where you are asked to pull a member from the floor and take them through a workout or exercises, while the manager observes. Seems like they were looking for how you interact with members, how you handle objections as well as your training knowledge and technique.
Third interview was with the general manager of the club. Wanting to ensure I was a right fit for this club. Asked questions on how I work in a team setting asked to give examples based on previous jobs and sports teams. Asked about how I live a healthy lifestyle and to give their Mission Statement.
Fourth and final interview was another ‘branding’ interview. To see if I fit the Life Time brand. This was with the Regional Director. This particular director has been with the company 25+ years and he told me he was asked to come to the company when it was first beginning. Discussed details about the job and company. Such as, how compensation works, benefits, how employee training works and what to expect the first 3 months.
Overall an extensive process yes, but all 4 interviews lasted around 13 days from start to receiving an offer.
Interview process was pretty standard. Not too many difficult questions. They do want someone who is certified before interviewing and with some experience. Met with the Team Development manager, followed by the Department Head. I finished with a phone call with a Regional Manager.
