I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at LA Fitness (Irvine, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
There was a typical one-on-one interview followed by a training demonstration to showcase your exercise repertoire. Show your professionalism on the gym floor. Be ready to apply what you learned from your certification to clients.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at LA Fitness (Orlando, FL) in Jan 2018
Interview
Was referred by a friend. Only way to move up is usually to find someone to replace you. Casual interview as we were all fairly young. The GM was young and I asked my referral if I could wear gym attire or should I wear formal attire. He said gym attire was okay. If I had gone into the interview without knowing anyone I would most definitely have worn business casual attire. Most new hires showed up for interviews business casual. Bring a hard copy of your resume as most people do not.
Do not show up late. Show your bubbly personality. Do not appear meek or timid even if you are not confident. They can teach you sales techniques but not an outgoing personality.

Interview
A lot of getting to know you and your work history questions and what your availability is and what your comfortable with. It was a one on one sit down following with a background check and then you wait for the next hiring manager to contact you 1-2 days later with an over the phone interview which then determines if they say your good to be hired and then the first manager will contact you if you are to be hired for the position
