I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at LA Fitness (Alexandria, VA) in Jan 2013
Interview
I had to go to a nearby LA Fitness club and do a phone interview with my future boss. The interview lasted a little bit over an hour but it was a great experience. It was more of a conversation than the typical Q&A. By the end of the interview I was told that I would receive a call from their corporate office and that if they like me, than I definitely got the job. I was offered a position within days!

You will meet with either the regional vice president or the general manager of the store you applied to. They will ask you what experience you have in sales and why you would be good for the job. It helps if you have played sports or have a lot of fitness experience. They will give you an example of why someone does not want to sign up and ask how you would get around it.

My boss set up the stereo, asked me which songs I would like to dance to, took notes, etc. It was an easy audition, not awkward, and now I have an amazing job working with great people. There is no other job I would rather have than to teach Zumba at the gym I have been wanting to work for.
