I received an unsolicited email stating they were looking for people with my background, with a link to apply for the position. Two hours after formally applying I received an email from the originator of the first email stating:
" We have reviewed your resume and, while impressed by your background, we will be moving forward with candidates that more closely match our current hiring needs in our local area."
It seems someone was attempting to reach a predetermined quota of applicants rather than actually qualifying applicants.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Glassdoor (Sausalito, CA) in Sep 2013
Interview
Encouraging interview process. Seems like a maturing start-up, good rapport with interviewer, quickly jumped from phone screening to online personality assessment, then contacted for an onsite interview. Absolutely no wasting of time. There was some juggling of schedules and other commitments on both sides, but we agreed on a day and time without a hiccup. Unfortunately, a couple hours before the interview, they contacted me to cancel.

Question 1
No difficult or unexpected question. I asked questions about my interviewers path to work at Glassdoor, and let him do most of the talking. He should be very proud of his career and current work.

Interview
Reached out to me via email about the position and asked if I would be interested. I replied showing interest and I never heard back from them again. Yeah, real professional on their part.
