Pros

Wal-Mart is a great store to work for because there is so many opportunities for career advancement. I've been an APA for about 4 months and I'm already on the fast track to becoming an APM. If you have experience in the field and at least some form of a college education you can really grow.

Cons

Really the only downside for me is that I am the only APA in my store so I get stuck dealing with everything and I always have to work nights and weekends because I have no one to switch off with.

Pros

Best place for growth if you dedicate the time and effort also great benefits packages if you are full time.

Cons

Management in general. Turn over rate is truly ridiculous. (here today gone tomorrow). Everything is dictated through management and if you have a bad manager or supervisor everything that goes wrong falls back on you. In alot of cases almost no holidays except for Christmas day. No overtime. Horrible under staffed.

Pros

I started out as a part time associate, my unemployment had run out, I though I would work there until I found a position. I have been with Walmart 3 years and have been promoted 2x, I am interviewing again this week for a 3rd promotion. So advancement is there if a person is ready to apply themselves. I have transfer to get a promotion but it has overall been a good experience.

Cons

As with company, there are some bad managers that some how never seem accountable for their actions. And run there individual stores as if they were personally owned. With no respect for the company's core beliefs, The point system is an unfair system , coaching are not applied in a fair manner
