Pros

They dangle of carrot of full time work with benefits, continuing education and promotions from within. Once you are there they work you like a temp. The metrics constantly changing so they have a legal reason to fire you without "laying" you off.

Cons

For the Pharmacy Technician jobs in the Central Pharmacy Operations which includes the central pharmacy, the call center, data entry of prescriptions, and Third Party Rejects (insurance) resolution they constantly are trying to fire you under the guise of "quality control" and metrics goals. A very unhappy stressful place to work. I was a "Old Timer" and had worked there for little over a year. Once I hit the high end of the salary range I was gone too.

Pros

Got paid decently for my job. Didn't have to work a ton of overtime. Worked for and with some great people.

Cons

Used to be one of the last big companies that actually had work/life balance. In the last 5 years with all the acquisitions and changes in management/lay-offs, it has become a circus. The systems are outdated because the investment in that was obviously not a priority. Benefits have deteriorated, I might as well have bought my own health insurance. There are way too many layers and "towers" of management at corporate. No one knows what anyone does there anymore and who to go to to get any information.

Pros

Open 363 days a year, so if you want weekend work, you have it. Good pay and benefits. Great concept, but very poorly implemented.

Cons

Micromanaging. Ridiculously slow EMR, not at all tailored to clinical practice. Can't get time off when needed. High turnover. They tolerate bad clinicians, which makes us all look bad. Not willing to really invest in the IT aspect of the business.
